This course has been developed in partnership with the Finance Against Slavery and Trafficking (FAST) initiative. In this course, you will learn about the central role Financial Intelligence Units (FIUs) play in the fight against the different forms of modern slavery. This includes a general introduction to modern slavery, its scale, and the definitions of its different forms. You will then learn about the importance of financial intelligence and get to know the tools that can be used and ways in which FIUs can help to combat modern slavery through concrete examples and good practices. Finally, remedy, financial inclusion, and sanctions in the context of modern slavery will be addressed.
