March 3rd is #WorldWildlifeDay—a global occasion to celebrate the beauty and diversity of our planet’s wildlife while raising awareness about the urgent threats facing endangered species. First proclaimed by the United Nations in 2013, this day reminds us of the critical need to protect nature and combat wildlife crime.
Illegal wildlife trade is one of the world’s most lucrative criminal markets, fueling environmental destruction and harming biodiversity. In recognition of this, FINTRAC Canada | CANAFE Canada (FIU-Canada) and #ECOFEL are committed to raising awareness and educating FIUs and their partners on this important issue.
