Snow Leopards

Snow Leopards

With less than 4000 snow leopards left in the wild, this species faces extinction. Between 2008 to 2016, poaching contributed to the species’ potential fate as an average of 221-450 snow leopards are killed each year (TRAFFIC, 2016). FIUs can support investigations into IWT by tracing the criminal networks’ illicit financial flows who engage in poaching and trafficking snow leopards.
