During the Egmont Group Plenary in Luxembourg (July 6-11, 2025), ECOFEL hosted a dedicated workshop to advance the development and implementation of the ECOFEL Certification Program (ECP).
The session highlighted the program’s current status, showcased ECOFEL’s collaborative approach to course development, and engaged FIUs in dynamic discussions on implementation strategies.
Key outcomes included:
- Broad support for ECP and its development approach.
- Strong interest in leveraging the ECP for onboarding, refresher training, and broader AML/CFT capacity building.
- Comprehensive guidance for the continued development of practical, impact-driven learning content.
- Requests for actionable guidance to support national-level adoption and integration.

As we continue to evolve the program, ECOFEL remains committed to co-creating with the FIU community. We invite all FIUs to volunteer as language reviewers or content contributors to support multilingual and context-sensitive delivery.
Looking ahead, we will be discussing the next phase of the ECP during the Egmont Working Group Meetings in early 2026.
